It shows that even eric cantor who was seen as possibly the next speaker and the most conservative out of the republican leadership, (Boehner, McConnel and co) that even he wasn't extreme enough. If a TEA party challenger can be the number two republican. We are in for some shit.
This isn't a win for liberals or democrats either. Its a failure on both parties. Once would think that its time to stop with these silly ideologies that the far right still holds on to.

From what I am reading he seemed to do what many athletes do, the look at the next challenge before completing the first, it was widely viewed he was trying to figure out how to get the speakers chair rather than focus on his constituents. More interested in K-street affairs than his actual duty to the people he was supposed to represent.
I think you are at least partially correct, but go a little too far, by not mentioning the out of touch extreme left as well. There are ways two sides of that coin.

There was a time long ago when Senators went to DC to represent there constituiency then after serving 2 terms came back home and went back to work letting the next guy serve. Instead of staying in service for 20 years totally out of touch with their constituients.

The fact that somebody from the tea party( an unknown) at that can knock of someone that high up should let us all know that trouble is up ahead!

Media reports say the the voters of Virginia were concerned about his weakness on the issue of border security. My question is which border? the one between Virginia and North Carolina, the border between Virginia and Kentucky or the border between virginia and West Virginia? it can't be the only other border they have with the atlantic Ocean. This is how stupid this conservative, not conservative enough B.S has gotten. Of course the border they want these poor fools to be concerned about is a border that is 1800 miles away from them, one that takes away the focus on real issues and clouds the minds of granny and gramps peeping throw their curtains wondering if pepe, or jaunito are coming. The sad part of this hole issue is that for years the largest number of Illegal immigrants has not been the Mexicans, Dominicans, Indians or africans it's the IRISH!

he may have ignored the tea party...but it's a good amount of those folks who think backwards and don't look forward. guess in the end this was bound to happen cuz folks in washington would rather not get things done just to hate on the prez.
